Empowering Corporate Headshots for AMD: Celebrating Women in Tech
Client: AMD (Advanced Micro Devices)
Project: Portrait & Headshot Photography – Women in the Workplace
Location: On-site corporate offices
Services: Corporate Headshots & Environmental Portraits

I was commissioned by AMD, a global leader in high-performance computing and semiconductor technology, to create a series of professional portraits celebrating women across their engineering and business teams. The shoot formed part of a wider programme to recognise and celebrate women in the workplace, aligning with International Women’s Day and AMD’s ongoing commitment to diversity, representation and inclusion in the tech sector.
The brief was clear: create warm, confident and empowering portraits that reflected the people behind the technology — authentic, professional imagery that AMD could use across internal communications, recruitment, PR and employer-branding campaigns.
Creating Confident, Approachable Corporate Portraits
Rather than overly staged or generic headshots, the aim was to create portraits that felt:
-
Professional but relaxed
-
Confident without feeling corporate or stiff
-
Approachable and human
-
Consistent across the full set for use as a campaign
Each person was given a dedicated 15-minute slot, allowing enough time to put them at ease, guide subtle posing, and capture a small set of strong, natural portraits without disrupting the working day. Over the course of a six-hour session, I photographed 21 women from across AMD’s engineering and professional teams.
This structured approach is ideal for larger organisations: it keeps the day running smoothly while ensuring every person receives the same level of attention and care.
A Calm, Efficient On-Site Headshot Setup
To minimise disruption and maximise consistency, I brought a portable studio setup directly into AMD’s offices. This allowed me to control lighting and backgrounds while keeping the portraits visually aligned with AMD’s brand and internal communications style.
The result was a cohesive set of images that works across:
-
Internal announcements and campaigns
-
Recruitment and careers pages
-
Employer branding and DE&I initiatives
-
PR and social media
-
Conference and speaker profiles
Just as importantly, the experience itself was designed to be positive and supportive — many people told me they don’t enjoy having their photo taken, so creating a relaxed, encouraging environment was a key part of the brief.
Photography that Supports Employer Branding & DE&I
Projects like this go beyond simple headshots. They help organisations:
-
Visually represent the people behind the work
-
Celebrate diversity and inclusion authentically
-
Humanise complex, technical industries
-
Create a more relatable employer brand
-
Build a reusable image library for ongoing communications
For AMD, this series of portraits provided a valuable set of campaign-ready images that can be reused across multiple platforms and initiatives, long after International Women’s Day itself.
Corporate Headshot Photography for Technology & Engineering Teams
I regularly work with technology companies, research organisations and corporate teams to create:
-
Professional headshots for individuals and teams
-
Consistent multi-person portrait sessions
-
On-site “pop-up studio” setups
-
Branded portrait campaigns for internal initiatives
-
Employer branding and recruitment imagery
If you’re planning a headshot day, a staff portrait campaign, or a diversity & inclusion initiative and want imagery that feels human, confident and genuinely professional, I’d be happy to help.
