I was commissioned as the official photographer for the FTH Advanced Connectivity Showcase, hosted at the Science Museum in London. The event brought together industry leaders, investors, government representatives and academic researchers to explore commercial opportunities emerging from the Federated Telecoms Hubs (FTH) programme.
Set across two floors of the Science Museum’s Illuminate event spaces, the showcase combined keynote talks, panel discussions, researcher pitches, exhibitions and networking sessions. The brief was to capture the full scale and energy of the event, alongside clear, professional imagery of speakers, exhibits and delegates engaging with the technology on show.
The resulting image library was created for use across FTH’s communications, partner updates, reports, websites and future event promotion.
Documenting a Large-Scale Technology Showcase
This event required comprehensive coverage across multiple spaces and formats. My approach was to create a varied, high-quality image library that showed both the content and the context of the day.
Keynote Speakers & Panel Sessions
Clean, professional photographs of all speakers on stage, including leadership, partner keynotes and the closing panel session. I captured both close-ups for PR and profile use, alongside wider shots that show the audience and scale of the event.
Researcher Elevator Pitches
Fast-paced coverage of up to 15 individual researcher pitches, focusing on natural expression, confidence on stage and audience engagement. These images are ideal for future communications, funding updates and showcasing the people behind the innovation.
Exhibition Spaces & Technology in Action
The exhibition area formed the heart of the showcase, with five themed zones and dozens of individual exhibits. I documented:

Capturing Energy, Engagement & Scale
Beyond the formal programme, a key part of the brief was to show the event as busy, dynamic and well attended.

These contextual images help future audiences understand the scale and quality of the event, not just the content on stage.
Behind the Scenes & Event Team Photography
Alongside the main coverage, I also photographed the organising team, both individually and with partners where possible. These behind-the-scenes images are often useful for post-event communications, social media and internal recognition, helping to humanise the delivery of a complex, multi-space conference.
